3. Other Suggested Pages for UK Compliance
A. Cookie Policy
Why it's needed: The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) in the UK require you to get consent from users to store or retrieve information on a computer or other web-connected device. This is most commonly done via a cookie banner and a detailed policy.
What it should contain:
- An explanation of what cookies are.
- A list of the specific cookies your site uses (e.g., for analytics, functionality).
- An explanation of why you use them.
- Information on how users can manage or disable cookies in their browser.
B. Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
Why it's needed: If you have an online community (like a Slack or Discord channel), an AUP sets the rules for behaviour. It protects your community members from abuse and protects you from liability.
What it should contain:
- Prohibited uses (e.g., no spam, no hate speech, no illegal content).
- Content standards.
- Consequences for breaching the policy (e.g., warning, suspension, removal).
C. Contact Page
Why it's needed: Under the UK Companies Act and E-commerce Regulations, you must display certain information clearly on your website.
What it should contain:
- Your registered business name (The Innovator's Launchpad UK).
- Your contact email address.
- If you are a registered Limited Company, you must also display your company registration number, place of registration (e.g., England and Wales), and registered office address.
